On July 9th the exhibition Caricaturca 2010 – Gobal and Local opens at Tütün Deposu Istanbul. This exhibition has been initiated and organized by the Turkish Cultural Initiative Diyalog, Istanbul, the persmuseum, Amsterdam, the Caricatura Gallery, Kassel and with the financial support of Stichting Democratie en Media, Amsterdam, the Foreign Office of the Federal Republic of Germany, the Consulate General of the Netherlands, Pro Helvetia the Swiss Arts Council, Stichting Roportaj, Amsterdam, Anadolu Kültür, Istanbul, and dDf, Istanbul.
A selection of excellent caricaturists from 4 countries (Turkey, Netherlands, Germany and Switzerland) will present their works together for the first time at the Caricaturca 2010. Approx. 200 works will reflect and compare different cultural aspects and contexts in one show. The subtitle, "Global-Local" means the goal of the exhibitions comparing the different scenes of comic art with each other. The main focus will be the world of the cartoonists with their own popular culture, politics and their own themes. Some of the works in the exhibition will reflect as well the cartoonists point of view on the so-called "cartoon crisis".

The Goethe-Institut Istanbul is very proud to be organizing a large-scale, high-profile arts tour throughout Turkey and the EU from May 2009 until June 2010 - "European Literature Goes to Turkey/ Turkish Literature Goes to Europe".
Funded by the European Union’s Cultural Bridges program, the tour will bring 48 authors and countless musicians, photographers, filmmakers and artists from eight participating European countries (Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria) to 24 cities throughout Turkey.

Within this festival diyalog is organizing a workshop series called “Video Camps”. The workshops were developed by diyalog in the frame of entropyTV and will focus on creating short video narratives, shot in a single take. The subject of the movie clips will reflect the expectations and experiences of the participants about the European Culture Week Events, as well as their opinion on the European Union.
The Video Camps will be conducted by Thomas Büsch, Sabine Küper-Büsch, Selim Eyüboglu and Dinc Erem Tapa.

Diyalog promotes the cultural exchange with Turkey. Special attention is on the overcoming of borders, which still exists in the culture between Turkey and other countries.
EntropyTV - as part of the diyalog web site - shows the results of a video workshop series. These series will take place at different locations in Turkey and the world. The results will become an archive of differences in living condition. In future entropyTV will have also a video blog extending the presentation of the workshop.
The WebExtension section is an additional feature of the diyalog web site offering the ability to discuss and reflect subjects of culture and civil society in a forum and a blog.
