International cultural festival in Anamur, Turkey

with various Workshops on the traces of Turkish culture and the region of Anamur
The festival was canceled due to a lack of participants. Therefore, Diyalog will realize the project next year.
The "Anamur - MonAmour" festival – August 14 to 25, 2009 - is an international gathering around art and creativity, taking place in the rural Mediterranean setting of Anamur with participants from different cultural backgrounds. The project consists of a series of events around the central backbone of hands-on, state-of-the-art workshops on photography, video, caricature drawing and local cuisine led by professionals.
The festival in Anamur intends to create at least a 10 days community where cross-cultural and inter-disciplinary experiences are shared. The town of Anamur with all its historical and natural beauty will become a playground for creativity; a varied cultural program will be provided; the site-specific features of the area (e.g. the sea turtles, the Roman castle or the social life of the farmers) will be mediated by professionals from the region.

Museum of World Cultures Frankfurt
At the instance of the Frankfurt Book Fair, the Museum of World Cultures in Frankfurt will open the exhibition “The Sultan’s nose – Caricatures from Turkey” at 8th August 2008. Diyalog is organising the exhibition in co-operation with the Museum of World Cultures Frankfurt, the Friedrich-Eber Foundation Turkey and with financial support by the Turkish Ministry for Culture and Tourism. The exhibition is part of the official supporting programme “Turkey in All Its Colours” that is representing Turkey as the honourable member of the Book Fair in 2008 in all its variety.
Parallel to the exhibition a book named “The Sultan’s nose” will be published by Bilgi University and the Berlin Dagyeli publishing house, that can be acquired for 28,- as from August. ISBN 978-3-935597-68-5
